Testimonials

I just wanted to tell you how deeply moved and impressed I was by your session in Orlando yesterday. I have been in many team-building sessions, but nothing quite like working with a team to assemble an artificial hand for somebody. Kudos to you all for being such creative and inspirational individuals.

As for the main benefits/take-aways, it’s hard to narrow it down to a few. Of course there were huge ‘Aha’s” for the group with regard to thinking outside the box and creativity. But there was also a vastly increased level of team cohesiveness. We really had an opportunity to know each other better and to have some fun together in a way that increases our commitment to work together effectively. But the biggest payoff of all was the combined feeling of having accomplished something with such an impact to people around the world. Knowing that we actually made a significant positive difference in the lives of people who so badly need it, was astonishing!

The power of Helping Hands is the seamless integration of powerful team-building and charitable giving — each reinforcing the other. Building prosthetic hands was something completely unique for our sales team whose daily work involves selling an in-depth credit and business service to global clients. But the hand-building required all the same interpersonal skills needed in successful sales — collaboration, organization and teamwork. The immediacy of the project — completing something that has a real impact on someone’s life — was touching and meaningful to everyone there. The big takeaway for our team was that we needed to get closer to our customers because we need to understand the differences we are making.

“We were looking for something that would bring our organizational values to life in a meaningful, memorable and relevant way. The impact on our team was profound.”

“During our annual management meeting this year, we were fortunate to have spent an afternoon with Odyssey Teams. I must say, it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made on how we spend time during our meeting. Since quality time together as a management team is difficult to come by, it was not easy to convince everyone that spending an afternoon away from the tactical necessities of business planning would be well spent. By the end of the afternoon, however, and even still today (3 months later), our team unanimously voted the 3 hours with Odyssey was the most beneficial part of the meeting.

There are not enough words to express my gratitude. Our group can’t stop talking about what a wonderful time they had and how touched they were by the activity. We want to work with you and Odyssey again for that event.

“ The Build a Hand workshop project gave our team a special opportunity to achieve beyond our self-expectations. We found that working together for such a worthwhile cause gave us perspective on new ways to put our collective and individual talents to use for the good of others while learning important lessons about our own capabilities. Building hands was a challenging (and at first daunting)yet rewarding task, and a teambuilding activity that we will never forget! Thanks to Odyssey Teams for helping us make a difference!”
