CHANGING LIVES WILL CHANGE YOUR TEAM

Uninspired People Never Reach High Goals

Today’s organizations are under pressure to develop stronger teams, drive deeper employee engagement, and deliver change-ready behaviors. Yet most leadership and team training events remain stuck in booklets and theory. Charity initiatives can feel more like obligations than a secret weapon to success.

Common challenges include:

  • Leadership training that's overly theoretical and hard to apply in the real world
  • Low team engagement and emotional buy-in
  • CSR initiatives that feel transactional rather than meaningful

A Different Approach to CSR and Team Development

Corporate Social Responsibility becomes transformative when people can see and feel the difference they’re making. Build-a-Hand is designed to address these exact leadership challenges. Backed by more than 35 years of facilitation expertise, the program helps leaders strengthen strategic alignment, inspire collaboration, and build purpose-driven accountability through hands-on, real-world impact.

Participants work together to assemble prosthetic hands, applying critical behaviors in real time while contributing to a meaningful humanitarian mission. Guided by expert facilitators, the experience moves beyond theory and into action.

How the session runs:

  • Teams collaborate to assemble prosthetic hands that are donated to individuals in need in more than 100 countries
  • All materials and step-by-step instructions are provided — everything your team needs to participate and succeed
  • A highly engaging, purpose-driven experience scalable for groups of any size
  • Available in in-person, virtual, or hybrid formats (kits billed separately)

The Build-a-Hand Formula

What sets Build‑a‑Hand apart is its simplicity and its significance. Participants are reminded of the power of empathy, purpose, and perspective. Through hands-on problem-solving, shared goals, and mission-focused communication, the impossible becomes possible.

The experience delivers practical insights that translate directly back into the workplace, helping participants leverage what they’ve learned long after the workshop ends.

That’s where Build-a-Hand stands apart. It is an inspirational training experience designed to strengthen strategic alignment, challenge communication, and build accountability without unnecessary complexity.

The program is intentionally challenging, giving leaders the opportunity to practice sharing knowledge and solving problems in real time while assembling prosthetic hands. The hands are then donated to individuals in need, creating meaningful, real-world impact beyond the meeting room walls.

FAQs

What leadership behaviors do participants develop through these experiences?

Participants strengthen skills such as communication, collaboration, strategic thinking, accountability, and problem-solving. Each experience is designed to help teams practice these skills in real time, translating lessons directly back to the workplace for improved results.

Can these programs be customized for different group sizes, formats, or goals?

Yes. Programs are tailored to accommodate various group sizes, delivery formats (in-person, virtual, hybrid, or DIY), and organizational objectives. Facilitation, timing, and outcomes are aligned to meet your team’s specific needs and desired results.

What’s included in each prosthetic hand kit?

Each kit contains all the components required to assemble one complete prosthetic hand, along with the tools needed for construction. It also includes a blank protective travel case and decorative pens for personalization. Step‑by‑step instructions and supporting videos are provided during your session.

How long does it take to build a hand?

A team of 3–4 participants can typically complete the assembly in about 60 minutes. With warm‑ups, energizers, and a facilitated debrief, a full session usually runs 90 minutes.

How do I know if my team built the hand correctly?

A Build‑a‑Hand Help Desk assistant is available throughout the session to provide guidance. After the event, every prosthetic hand undergoes a full quality check by experienced technicians before being fitted to a recipient.

Who receives the prosthetic hands?

Completed hands are distributed globally through the LN4 Hand Foundation and nonprofit and humanitarian partners. Each hand is delivered to communities where it is needed most.

Will we be notified when our prosthetic hand is fitted to a recipient?

Due to clinical processes and patient confidentiality, individual tracking cannot be guaranteed. However, we share general distribution updates after your event. Teams may include an email address inside the case if they wish to give recipients the option to reach out.
