An Interview with a Dead Man - Doug Reid
Doug Reid was thriving - a high-performing businessman whose drive and discipline helped generate millions for his company. But beneath the surface, the relentless pressure and nonstop pace were quietly taking a toll. Then came the moment that changed everything.
While on his daily commute, Doug stopped at a coffee shop - just like any other day. But this time, he suffered a Widowmaker heart attack. Thanks to the swift actions of a bystander, the extraordinary care of hospital staff, and a touch of luck, Doug survived. Incredibly, he was pronounced “dead” for 38 minutes and now holds the record at Stanford Hospital for the longest time clinically dead before being revived.
His story is nothing short of astonishing. Listening to Doug recount his experience is both humbling and eye-opening. Today, he’s on a mission to educate others—reminding us that success without balance can come at a steep cost. Stress, unchecked, can be deadly.
We’re grateful Doug is here to share his story. It’s a wake-up call for all of us.
