In Memory of Margie Meadows
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Margie Meadows this past week. Margie was the beloved wife of Ernie Meadow, the creator of the LN‑4 prosthetic hand—an innovation at the heart of our Helping Hands program.
Honoring Her Legacy
If the Helping Hands program or the LN‑4 hand has touched your life, we invite you to leave a comment. We will pass your words along to Ernie as he navigates this time of grief.
Margie has now been reunited with her daughter, Ellen Meadows, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident many years ago. Ellen’s memory inspired Ernie and Margie to dedicate their lives to service projects in her honor. The LN‑4 prosthetic hand is a direct result of that inspiration, and it continues to change lives around the world.
A Life of Love and Service
After more than 50 years of marriage, we pause today to remember:
- A remarkable woman.
- A devoted wife and mother.
- A friend to people across the globe.
At Odyssey, we share in their call to action and will continue working tirelessly to put hands on people around the world in their honor.
Our Thoughts and Gratitude
Our hearts are with Ernie and his children as they process this profound loss. We extend our gratitude to all of you—our clients and partners—who have supported the Helping Hands program and the work of this quiet, humble, and extraordinary couple.
